2. Platform Role
2.1 Marketplace Only
Tradesfind is an online marketplace that connects Clients with Tradesmen. Tradesfind does not perform, supervise, or control any work carried out by Tradesmen. We are not a party to the agreement between a Client and a Tradesman. Tradesfind is not a staffing agency, employment agency, human resources provider, or recruiter. We do not assign, allocate, or direct Tradesmen to any particular job.
2.2 No Employment Relationship
Tradesmen are independent contractors. They are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Tradesfind. Tradesmen are solely responsible for:
- The quality and safety of their work.
- Their own tax obligations (including Income Tax, PRSI, and VAT where applicable).
- Obtaining and maintaining any required licences, certifications, and insurance.
- Compliance with all applicable Irish and EU laws and regulations.
2.3 No Guarantees
Tradesfind does not guarantee:
- The quality, safety, legality, or timeliness of any work performed.
- The accuracy of any user’s profile, qualifications, or insurance status.
- That a Client will hire a Tradesman, or that a Tradesman will accept a Job.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
3.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use Tradesfind.
3.2 Account Registration
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
3.3 Account Types
- Client: For individuals seeking trade services.
- Tradesman: For tradespeople offering services.
- Business: For companies managing multiple jobs or workers.
- Supplier: For businesses that wish to list and advertise physical goods, materials, tools, or equipment for sale. A Business account may be converted to a Supplier account through the Platform settings.
3.4 Verification
Tradesmen may be required to provide proof of identity, trade qualifications, and insurance. Tradesfind may, but is not obligated to, verify this information. Verification does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee.
3.5 Account Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion, including for:
- Breach of these Terms.
- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
- Failure to pay Platform Fees.
- Repeated complaints or disputes.
4. How the Platform Works
4.1 Job Posting
Clients post Jobs describing the work required, including location, category, and budget.
4.2 Hiring
Clients may browse Tradesman profiles, view highlights, reviews, and qualifications, and hire a Tradesman directly through the Platform.
4.3 Communication
All communication between Clients and Tradesmen should occur through the Platform’s built-in messaging system. Tradesfind is not responsible for communications that occur outside the Platform.
4.4 Completion and Verification
Once work is completed, the Tradesman may submit photos or videos as proof of completion. The Client can review and confirm that the work has been completed to their satisfaction.
4A. Supplier Marketplace
4A.1 Nature of the Supplier Marketplace
The Supplier Marketplace is a listing and advertising service only. Tradesfind provides Suppliers with a digital storefront to display their products, opening hours, store locations, and contact information to the Tradesfind user base. Tradesfind does NOT facilitate, process, mediate, or guarantee any transaction for physical goods between Suppliers and Buyers.
4A.2 Tradesfind’s Role
Tradesfind acts solely as a venue and directory for Supplier Product Listings, similar to a classified advertising platform. Specifically:
- Tradesfind does NOT purchase, sell, store, ship, deliver, or handle any physical goods.
- Tradesfind does NOT process payments for Product Listings. All payments for goods occur directly between the Supplier and Buyer, at the Supplier’s premises or through the Supplier’s own payment methods.
- Tradesfind does NOT set, control, or influence the prices of any products listed by Suppliers.
- Tradesfind does NOT verify the quality, safety, legality, accuracy of description, or availability of any products listed.
- Tradesfind does NOT act as an agent for either the Supplier or the Buyer in any goods transaction.
4A.3 Supplier Obligations
By creating a Supplier account and listing products on the Platform, the Supplier agrees to:
- Provide accurate and truthful product descriptions, prices, and images.
- Ensure all listed products comply with Irish and EU consumer protection law, including the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 and the Consumer Rights Act 2022.
- Hold all necessary licences, permits, and insurance required to sell the listed products.
- Handle all customer enquiries, complaints, returns, refunds, and warranty claims directly with the Buyer.
- Not list any prohibited, illegal, counterfeit, stolen, or dangerous goods.
- Maintain accurate opening hours and store location information.
- Pay the applicable Listing Fee on time. Failure to pay may result in removal of Product Listings and suspension of the Supplier account.
4A.4 Buyer Acknowledgement
By browsing, enquiring about, or purchasing any product from a Supplier on the Platform, the Buyer acknowledges and agrees that:
- The transaction is exclusively between the Buyer and the Supplier.
- Tradesfind bears no responsibility for the quality, condition, fitness for purpose, safety, or legality of any goods purchased.
- Any disputes regarding goods (including defects, non-delivery, incorrect items, or refund requests) must be resolved directly with the Supplier.
- Tradesfind’s dispute resolution system (Section 6) does NOT apply to goods transactions.
- The Buyer should exercise their own due diligence before purchasing any goods.
4A.5 Listing Fees
Suppliers pay a fixed monthly Listing Fee (currently €50 per month) to maintain their storefront and product listings on the Platform. This fee:
- Is non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law.
- Grants the Supplier access to their public storefront, product listing tools, video highlights, and map-based directory visibility.
- Does NOT guarantee any sales, leads, enquiries, or foot traffic.
- May be changed by Tradesfind with 30 days’ written notice to the Supplier.
4A.6 Removal of Listings
Tradesfind reserves the right to remove any Product Listing or suspend any Supplier account at its sole discretion, including for:
- Listing prohibited, illegal, or counterfeit goods.
- Receiving repeated complaints from Buyers.
- Non-payment of Listing Fees.
- Providing false or misleading product information.
- Any conduct that brings the Platform into disrepute.
4A.7 No Endorsement
The inclusion of a Supplier or Product Listing on the Platform does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee by Tradesfind. Any “Verified” badges displayed on Supplier profiles indicate only that Tradesfind has conducted basic checks on the Supplier’s business registration and do not constitute a warranty of the products sold.
5. Payments, Escrow, and Fees
5.1 Escrow System
When a Client hires a Tradesman, the agreed payment amount is charged to the Client and held in escrow by Tradesfind. This protects both parties:
- The Tradesman is assured that the funds exist.
- The Client is assured that funds are only released upon satisfactory completion.
5.2 Release of Funds
Escrow funds are released to the Tradesman’s Wallet when:
- The Client confirms the Job is complete; or
- 48 hours have passed since the Tradesman marked the Job as complete without the Client raising a dispute.
5.3 Platform Fee
Tradesfind charges a commission on each completed transaction. The current fee is displayed to both parties before the Job is confirmed. Tradesfind reserves the right to change its fee structure with reasonable notice.
5.4 Withdrawals
Tradesmen may withdraw funds from their Wallet to their linked bank account or Revolut account. Withdrawals are subject to:
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): A verification code will be sent to your registered email address.
- Processing Time: Withdrawals are processed manually and may take up to 48 hours.
- Minimum Withdrawal: Tradesfind may set a minimum withdrawal amount.
5.5 Wallet Top-Ups
Clients fund their Wallet through supported payment methods (e.g., credit/debit card via Revolut Pay). All payments are processed securely through third-party payment processors.
5.6 Refunds
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If a dispute arises, see Section 6 below.
5.7 Currency
All transactions on the Platform are denominated in Euro (€).
5.8 Extra Cost Requests and Extension Requests
During an active Job (after the Client has funded escrow and before the Job is marked Completed), a Tradesman may submit:
- Extra Cost Requests: a request to charge the Client an additional amount for unforeseen costs that arise during the Job (e.g. additional materials, scope discovered on-site). Each request requires Client approval. If approved, the additional amount is charged from the Client’s Wallet into escrow and released to the Tradesman upon Job completion under the same terms as the original payment (see 5.2).
- Extension Requests: a request to push the agreed end date of the Job. Each request requires Client approval and does not, by itself, change the price of the Job.
Post-completion adjustment window. Both Extra Cost Requests and Extension Requests remain available for a limited window after a Job is marked Completed. The exact duration of this window is set by Tradesfind from time to time and may be adjusted at our sole discretion (current value is displayed in-app). After that window closes, no further requests can be submitted through the Platform.
Civil arrangements after the window. Where a Client has approved an Extra Cost Request but is unable to fund it within the platform window, or where any further amounts are negotiated between Client and Tradesman after the window has closed, the matter becomes a direct civil arrangement between the parties. Tradesfind acts solely as an escrow agent and is not a party to, nor responsible for: late settlements, deferred payments, instalment plans, or any sums agreed off-platform. Both parties acknowledge that any such arrangement is entered into at their own risk and is not subject to Tradesfind’s dispute resolution, escrow, or refund mechanisms.
Locked prior to escrow funding. Extra Cost Requests cannot be submitted while a Job’s escrow remains unfunded — there is no balance to charge against. The Tradesman should not begin material-intensive work before the Client has funded the deposit.
Tradesman acknowledgement. Tradesmen accept that any cost or time discovered after the post-completion window has closed is non-recoverable through Tradesfind. Tradesmen are responsible for accurately estimating scope before accepting a Job and for submitting any necessary requests during the active Job or within the post-completion window. Damages, injury, or losses arising from work performed remain covered by the Tradesman’s own Public Liability Insurance (see Section 3.4).
6. Disputes and Cancellations
6.1 Dispute Process
If a Client is not satisfied with the work performed, they must raise a dispute within 48 hours of the Tradesman marking the Job as complete. Tradesfind administrators will review the dispute and may, at their sole discretion and based on available evidence, take any one of the following actions:
- Release the escrow funds in full to the Tradesman (where the work was completed satisfactorily).
- Refund the escrowed funds in full to the Client (where the work was not performed or fell materially below the agreed scope).
- Split the escrowed funds between the Client and Tradesman in whatever proportion is deemed fair.
- Issue a partial refund to the Client, with the balance released to the Tradesman.
- Request additional evidence from either party before deciding.
By raising or being party to a dispute, both the Client and the Tradesman expressly authorise Tradesfind to execute any of the above outcomes on their behalf and agree to be bound by the result.
6.1.1 Inactive or Abandoned Disputes (Stale Escrows)
If a dispute is raised, or if a job is halted, cancelled, or withdrawn from after starting, and both parties fail to communicate with Tradesfind support, submit requested evidence, or take any action on the platform for a period exceeding 14 consecutive days, the dispute and escrow transaction will be considered abandoned. In such events, Tradesfind reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to resolve the dispute, which may include returning all frozen escrow funds to the Client, releasing the funds to the Tradesman, or splitting the funds based on the last recorded state of the job. Once resolved due to abandonment, the transaction is final and non-reversible.
6.2 Tradesfind’s Role in Disputes
Tradesfind acts as a neutral mediator. Our decision on disputes is made in good faith but is not legally binding arbitration. Either party may pursue legal remedies independently.
6.2.1 Chat Review During Disputes
When a dispute is formally raised, Tradesfind administrators may access and review the chat history between the Client and Tradesman for that specific Job only, in order to investigate and resolve the dispute fairly. Access is limited to the disputed Job, used solely for resolution purposes, and is necessary for our legitimate interests in providing fair mediation under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Outside of a raised dispute, Tradesfind does not read or review private chat content.
6.3 Cancellations
- By Client (before work starts): The Client may cancel the Job and receive a full refund of escrowed funds.
- By Client (after work starts): The Client may still cancel, but the Tradesman may be entitled to partial compensation for work already performed.
- By Tradesman: A Tradesman may cancel a Job at any time before starting. Repeated cancellations may result in account penalties.
6.4 Tradesman Late Arrival & No-Show
- Grace period: A Tradesman is considered “on time” if they arrive within 1 hour 30 minutes of the scheduled start time.
- Late cancellation right: If the Tradesman is more than 1 hour 30 minutes late and has not yet begun the Job, the Client may cancel and receive a full refund. This decision rests entirely with the Client; they may also choose to wait.
- No-Show right (4-hour silence): If the Tradesman has not arrived and has sent no in-app communication for 4 hours beyond the scheduled start, the Client may mark the Job as a No-Show and receive a full refund. Where this occurs, a reputation impact is recorded on the Tradesman’s profile and is visible to future Clients.
- Communication exception: Tradesmen who proactively message the Client about a delay through the in-app messaging system are not subject to the No-Show reputation impact, though the Client retains the right to cancel under the 1 hour 30 minute rule.
- Once started: After the Tradesman taps “Start Job”, the standard in-progress cancellation rules (§6.3) apply instead.
6.5 Not an Employment Relationship
Nothing in the dispute resolution process, the escrow management system, or any reputation, reliability, or rating metric on the Platform constitutes Tradesfind exercising direction, supervision, or control over how Tradesmen perform their work. Tradesfind acts solely as a neutral payment escrow agent and mediator between independent contracting parties. Tradesmen retain full autonomy over their schedule, methods, tools, pricing within agreed scope, and choice of which Jobs to accept.
7. User Conduct
7.1 Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

- Upload harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to interact with the Platform.
7.2 Platform Bypass

Circumventing payment through the Platform is a breach of these Terms and may result in account termination.

Tradesmen are strongly encouraged (and in certain trades, legally required) to hold valid public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance. Tradesmen may upload proof of insurance to their profile.

- Tradesfind is not liable for any failure by a Supplier to deliver goods, honour pricing, process refunds, or fulfil any obligation to a Buyer.

8.3 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tradesfind, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Platform or breach of these Terms. This includes, without limitation, any claims arising from:
- Goods listed, sold, or purchased through the Supplier Marketplace.
- Any dispute between a Supplier and a Buyer.
- Any injury, damage, or loss caused by products purchased through the Platform.
